I'm Jared Mabry. I build technology teams, products, and companies from Nashville.
I got into technology the way a lot of people do — I was curious and couldn't stop tinkering. I studied business at Western Carolina University, then went back to get my MS in Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University while I was already deep into my career at HCA Healthcare. I started there in 2006 in Richmond, VA, and spent the next 18 years growing through roles I never could have predicted — Associate IT Director, Senior IT Director, Division Director, and eventually Division CIO for the MidAmerica Division in Kansas City.
Then came London. In 2017, HCA asked me to move to the UK and take over as CIO of their international operations — eight hospitals, 400 people, and a $122 million budget. Those five years in London were some of the most formative of my career and my life. Running technology for a healthcare system across a different country taught me things no MBA ever could. It also taught me that I really miss good barbecue.
I came back to Nashville in 2022 as VP of Digital Patient Experience at HCA — leading a 250-person team, a $100 million budget, and digital products touching 35 million patient encounters a year. It was exhilarating, exhausting, and exactly the kind of challenge I thrive on.
In 2024, I made the leap to D4C Dental Brands as SVP and CIO. D4C is one of the largest pediatric dental organizations in the country — 160 practices — and I'm leading the charge to modernize their technology, security, and data strategy. It's a smaller team (about 50 people) and a $25 million budget, but the impact per dollar is huge, and the pace is relentless.
Outside of my day job, I'm building two products through Mabry Ventures: MorningKeep, an AI-powered personal intelligence app, and HelloYaYa, a new way for families to stay connected. I also serve as a board advisor for HermanScience and AlwaysOnOps, and I mentor veterans through American Corporate Partners — something I care about deeply.
I've been recognized as a TennesseeCIO ORBIE Award Finalist (2025), named to the Constellation Research Top 100 (2023), and was on Becker's Top 14 CTOs list back in 2016. Those things are nice, but the work is what matters.
When I'm not working, you'll find me on the golf course, in the gym, reading, or hanging out with my wife Lauren and our three dogs — Georgia, Ginny, and Bailey. We live in Nashville, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
